How to Use My Graphics

Wow! Today my Bunting/Banners Clipart was feautured in the TpT newsletter! Some people are having trouble accessing the files, so I have created a little tutorial to help you out.

To access these files you will first need to unzip the file. In Windows Vista to Windows 7 (possibly Windows 8, but I haven't tested it yet), you can do this by right-clicking on the file that you have downloaded to your computer.

First, use your Start Menu to open up the folder where your saved the file. The file will have a title like "CatLadyGraphicsProductName.zip". Right-click on the file and select the option "Extract All ..." A box will come up asking you where you would like to save the extracted files. It will usually default to create a new folder in the same folder where you have saved the "CatLadyGraphicsProductName.zip" file, with the same name as the .zip file. This is fine. If it doesn't create the folder for you, you can go ahead and create the folder manually and select that folder by using the "Browse" option on the dialog box.

Once you have selected where you are going to Extract the files, go ahead and extract them to that folder. Once extracted, you will see the individual PNG files in the folder. :)

If you don't see the option to "Extract All ..." when you right-click on the "CatLadyGraphicsProductName.zip" file, you will need to install a file extraction program. I use 7-zip, which allows you to extract files using the right-click option as described above. The only difference if you would select the following when you right-click on the file:

7-Zip --> Extract files ...

You can download and install 7-Zip for free by clicking on, or copying and pasting this link:

To use them in a program, it varies according to which program you use to create your lesson plans or handouts. Most program have the following option. I use Kingsoft Presentation, which is a free alternative to Microsoft Office Powerpoint. From the menu bar across the top, select:

Insert --> Graphics/Picture --> From file ..

Browse until you find the folder that you have extracted the "CatLadyGraphicsProductName.zip" file to, and select the graphic that you wish to use. It will show up on your page. Use your cursor to resize and move the graphic to where you want it. :)

If you use another program, google "How to Import Graphics into [Insert YourProgram Name Here]" and you find some tutorials to help you. :)

I hope this helps!

If not, here are some online tutorials.
